The Opportunity

As an acknowledged expert in your field you will lead the technical promotion of our business, products and applications through your interaction with existing / future customers and your internal colleagues.

As well as providing leadership in getting the best from existing solutions you will also explore development opportunities and champion the development and adoption of these through the sales, field applications, marketing and development teams, as well as working directly with customers where appropriate.

As the champion for your products you will be responsible for maximising product performance and return through its lifecycle from idea development through to product withdrawal

About You

With a degree in a relevant science subject such as Degree in Material Science, Physics, Geology, Chemistry or related subject at least to MSc standard. A PhD involving a significant microanalysis component is desirable.

Personal attributes will include:

•            An in-depth knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for EDS/WDS microanalysis and electron microscopy (essential)

•            A thorough understanding of a diverse range of applications for micro-analysis using EDS and/or WDS (essential)

•            An expert in using WDS in a research environment.  (essential)

•            A thorough understanding of the theory and practice of quantitative analysis (essential)

•            A thorough understanding of spectrum processing is desirable

•            Practical experience of EPMA operation is desirable 

•            Sound microanalysis knowledge and ability to apply appropriately to customer problems (essential)

•            Experience in supporting the development of training materials, technical documentation and sales collateral desirable.

•            This job involves frequent travel and stays overseas. It is therefore essential that you are able to travel without restriction, subject to any normal visa requirements

Experience of working in a commercial environment is highly desirable, but not essential if you can demonstrate that you have a keen interest in our business and the aptitude to learn.
